baking goodies!
I had a spoiled week, got all kinds of baking goodies! Most importantly my Kitchen Aid (best investment ever!), Martha cupcakes book, and two new baking pans.
New pans meant I had to immediately use them so this week was no cupcakes (don't worry they are my first love!) and instead a lemon ginger bundt cake and popovers.
Popovers are ridiculously easy and so awesome!
Baking=happy weekend! People=sad weekend, but that's a different story...

Happy Easter!
Second round of Easter cupcakes (maybe I do bake too much...): Devils food with buttercream grass and Peep toppers. LOVE these...and homemade everything is way better! Next year I'll attempt making homemade Peeps. But piping grass is a bitch...my hand was shaking the whole time from my arm hurting.
I also made Devil eggs for the first time...more piping :/ I didn't intentionally make two "devil" items...lol.

the week...
So a few things happened this week....most importantly I made it through one more hell week of school; only one and a half left. Second I had to go to a documentary for class and then write a paper about it; was dreading it but am so moved and inspired now...invisiblechildren.com...(I feel very strongly about certain things/causes and this is now one of them!). Thirdly I had a visit from a great friend; short but sweet. Lastly..wait for it..I am finally getting a Kitchen Aid stand mixer...OMG I am beyond excited!

Cadbury Cupcakes!
Cadbury eggs are one of my ultimate favorite candies so I immediately had to make this recipe!
Yum-o!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but on a Friday night, I happily stayed home and watched Smallville, drank wine from Cupcake winery (yes, I am that obsessed!) and blogged. Now that I have fully delved into the blogging world, I am saving recipes at an alarming rate, but thankfully, I have a wonderful outlet for my baking – Alan's work! I can bake my little heart out, sample the results, and send the rest to work with him, where they actually ask for their weekly treats. Because of the astounding number of dessert recipes I have saved, I have made a resolution to bake at least one thing per week! :)
